ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Monday took notice of spreading sectarian hatred on social media and called for an immediate action against those who are involved in such activities, a move which came in the backdrop of Friday’s sectarian violence in Rawalpindi.
The government directed the federal ministry of information and technology to identify data of such content from cellular companies and internet service providers.
Moreover, the government issued directives to launch a crackdown on people responsible for spreading sectarian hatred on various social media platforms and the internet.
