Asma Jehangir is informant to external forces: PTI
ISLAMABAD: Shireen Mazari, the central information secretary Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has said that it was not surprising to find Asma Jehangir targeting PTI Chairman Imran Khan, right on cue from the backers of those fomenting terrorism in Pakistan – RAW and CIA.
Her statement came after a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Asma Jahangir described Imran Khan as an informer of the Taliban and an immature politician
“Ms Jehangir has herself been a long time informant to external forces destabilising the country so she assumes everyone else must be doing the same especially since she is aware of those forces who have been subsidised by India for decades and have old links with the Indian political establishment as well as with those Afghan political leaders with families based in India,” Mazari said in a statement on Friday.
“Given that she is not ignorant, she also knows only too well that all political parties supported dialogue which seems anathema to her in the case of Pakistan but which she has supported where the US and other Western forces have lent their support also.”
The PTI central information secretary said that by accusing Imran Khan of being a “Taliban informer” Asma had insulted the leader of the second largest political party in the country.
“Such irresponsible statements are also a breach of privilege of the leader of the PTI in the National Assembly and this issue will be taken up with the Speaker of the National Assembly when it meets on the 24th of February,” the statement said.
As for the issue of maturity, Mazari pointed out that “If Ms Jehangir would only look at her own antics, from dancing with Bal Thackeray to keeping silent on human rights abuse of Kashmiris’ by Indian occupying forces, including the use of rape as a weapon of war, she would see how immature and hypocritical she has been. In fact, the only consistency in her politics of human rights is her hypocrisy!.”
The statement further said that “Ms Jehangir seems clearly resentful of the fact that Chairman Imran Khan today has a growing national following premised on the PTI agenda for change – which undermines the decades of servitude and dependency cultivated by the likes of Ms Jehangir and others under the so-called “liberal” agenda – a label to disguise a dollar-dependent agenda for Pakistan.”
