PESHAWAR: The Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah said on Monday that terrorist incidents are meant to sabotage the proposed talks with the Taliban for peace, adding that collective efforts are required to eliminate terrorism from the country.

Shah made these remarks at Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar where visited on Monday along with Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Senator Raza Rabbani to inquire about the health of the injured people of twin suicide blasts at a Church.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister Sindh also called for unity to counter terrorism and extremist.

On the other hand, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman also said that Peshawar church attacks were aimed at sabotaging peace talks with the Taliban.

Talking to media persons on his arrival in Quetta on Monday, the JUI-F chief termed Peshawar church attack a big tragedy, adding that it destroyed Pakistan’s identity.

The JUI-F chief said church attacks occurred at a time when Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was to present Pakistan’s stance on drone attacks in the United Nations.

Fazl said after these attacks prime minister’s viewpoint would have no weight.
