ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday regretted tragic mine accident in Turkey resulting in the loss of over 200 precious lives.

In a statement, the Foreign Office said that Pakistan stands ready to extend all possible support to Turkey in the relief effort.

President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have also expressed grave shock over colossal loss of life in coalmine explosion.

In their separate messages, they said that we stand by our Turkish brethren in this hour of suffering.

At least 238 miners were killed and 80 others injured while further 120 still remained trapped after an explosion occurred in a coal mine in the western Turkish province of Manisa.
