Pakistan railways earns Rs 2 billion in current fiscal year

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways has earned an amount of over Rs2 billion from freight service in the first 10 months of current fiscal year, media citing officials reported on Saturday.

The officials said that improvement in freight service has enhanced the railways revenue to 121 percent as compared to last year. They said that the availability of locomotives for freight service has been enhanced from 8 to 25 on daily basis.

Moreover, the officials said that Pakistan Railways is expected to receive more locomotives in near future which will further boost the freight traffic.
