5,414 people receive loans under PM’s youth loan scheme

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly was informed that a total of 5,414 people from across the country have so been granted loans under the Prime Minister’s Youth Loan Scheme.

In a written reply to the question of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) lawmaker Shahida Rehmani, the Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar told the house that 348 successful applicants of loans hailed from Sindh, 76 from Balochistan, 4,128 from Punjab, 675 from Khyber Pakhtunkhaw, 7 hailed from Gilgit-Baltistan, 75 belonged to Azad Jammu and Kashmir and 105 hailed from Islamabad.

The finance minister said that 64 successful applicants were provided loans by the First Women Bank Limited and 5,350 by the National Bank of Pakistan.

In addition, he said that out of 5,414 successful applicants 5,302 loans were secured against personal guarantee, while 112 loans were secured against mortgage of property owned by the loan applicants.
