ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The two-day National Consultative Workshop on ‘Civil Service Reforms’ will be held on September 14 and 15 in Burban area of Murree wherein a six-member cabinet delegation will also participate on the directive of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

In a press release issued by the Ministry of Planning Development and Reforms of Pakistan (MoPDR) on Thursday, it was stated that the prime minister issued the directives that six federal ministers must partake in the National Consultative Workshop so as that they could give their valuable inputs there.

The federal ministers including Khawaja Saad Rafique, Anusha Rahman, Engr. Khurram Dastgir Khan, Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman, Saira Afzal Tarar and Rana Tanveer Hussain have been asked to participate in the National Consultative Workshop being held under the auspices of MoPDR.

The prime minister also asked all the Secretaries, Chief Secretaries and Director Generals to attend the workshop with full preparation so as to avoid any contradiction and confusion while finalizing the recommendations.

Sharif also directed the concerned members of the National Assembly to make sure their participation in the workshop.

The meeting of chief secretaries has been summoned on Sunday’s evening in order to do some brainstorming so as to table consolidated recommendations in the workshop which could help provide an enabling institutional structure for modernization of civil service and promote citizen-centric governance besides enhancing efficiency, effectiveness, transparency and accountability.

It is pertinent to mention that Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal will grace the concluding session of the workshop as a chief guest while the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Country Director and Members Planning Commission for Development and Reforms Dr Syed Tahir Syed Hjazi along others will also be present on the occasion.
