LAHORE: Mangla Dam has become the biggest water reservoir of the country after its upraising.

A WAPDA spokesman said in Lahore the water storage in Mangla Lake increased to 6.65 million acre feet surpassing the benchmark of 6.58 million acre feet‚ which is the maximum storage capacity of Tarbela Dam.

He said with increase in the dam’s height by 30 feet‚ now water can be stored in the reservoir up to 1‚242 feet against the previous conservation level of 1‚202 feet.

He said the present water level in the dam is 1232.5 feet.
