Federal govt will never interfere in treason case against Musharraf: Saad

ISLAMABAD: The federal government will never interfere in the high treason case against former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf, the railway minister Khawaja Saad Rafique told media persons outside the parliament on Wednesday.

The railway minister said the government and judiciary have their own jurisdictions and responsibilities. He said that the government will never interfere in Musharraf’s treason case proceedings, adding that courts will decide the future of the former president.

In reply to a question, the minister said that abrogation of constitution and misuse of powers is high treason. He said that Musharraf is no more a general and he is facing the courts in the capacity of a politician.
