HealthQJ Diagnostic starts free Hepatitis C Treatment

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The QJ Diagnostic (Qamar Jahan Diagnostic) has started free Hepatitis C Treatment for deserving patients.

Hepatitis C Test, Hepatitis C PCR and Medicine will be provided free of cost in the Qamar Jahan Diagnostic & Research Centre located at Blue Area in Islamabad.

Hepatitis C is a liver infection caused by a virus that can lead to serious liver damage. It is spread through infected blood.

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 58 million people have chronic Hepatitis C virus infection with about 1.5 million new infections occurring per year.

Unfortunately, Pakistan bears the second highest global burden of the disease, constituting at least five percent of the total population.

According to government estimates, there are between 8 to 11 million people with active Hepatitis C virus in Pakistan while about 240,000 new cases are detected every year.
