LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab government will spend an amount of Rs 28 million for the conservation and up gradation of Allama Iqbal Museum, Javed Manzil Lahore, with an aim to protect the residence of this great philosopher and poet as the heritage of the nation.

Under this project, Archaeology department Punjab will carry out repair works and upgrade various portions of the building.

Allama Iqbal Museum contains photographs, certificates, educational degrees, awards, medals and hand written drafts of Iqbal’s works.

The great philosopher had constructed the building in 1935 and spent last days of his life in it.

The Pakistan government declared it as Museum in 1961 to preserve the national hero’s belongings for the future generations.
