LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab government has imposed a ban on unnecessary expenditures of all departments as per the directive of the Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar.

Sources said that the provincial government has also banned the issuance of supplementary grants for the departments, new recruitments, and the purchasing of new vehicles and other luxurious items.

   

However, the recruitments of doctors and other medical staff in the health department will be exempted from the ban.

In Punjab, a total of 2,656 Coronavirus (COVID-19) Cases have so far surfaced while 24 persons have died of the virus, 272 have been recovered, and 12 are in critical condition.

Out of these 2,656 patients, 701 are Zaireen (pilgrims), 864 are Tableeghi Jamaat Members, and 89 are prisoners while the rest of 1,002 are common citizens.
