MOHALI, India: Pakistan will play an important match for its survival in the ICC T20 World Cup 2016 against New Zealand at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Tuesday.

Unfortunately, Pakistan’s two main players Muhammad Hafeez and Wahab Riaz are not likely to be in action in today’s match due to injuries. Hafeez is suffering from knee injury while Riaz got injured after a ball hit his neck during the practice session. Both players can be replaced by Khalid Latif and Imad Wasim.

Unlike Pakistan, New Zealand continues to perform exceptionally well in the event and so far remains unbeaten. However, Pakistan’s loss to India could only be overcome somewhat if green shirts win next two games against New Zealand and Australia.

Earlier on Monday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shahryar Khan at a press conference in Lahore termed the match against New Zealand very important for Pakistan’s progress in the ongoing T20 World Cup.

The PCB Chairman said that Pakistan team was ready for a better performance. He also expressed the hope that Pakistan would reach semifinal of ICC T20 World Cup 2016 by winning next two matches.
