PakistanPTI’s Pervez Khattak files papers for KPK CM slot

PESHAWAR: PTI Pervez Khattak today submitted nomination papers for the slot of Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Earlier, PTI’s Assad Qaiser and Imtiaz Shahid Qureshi were elected unopposed Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the KPK.

Sources said opposition in the house, led by Maulana Fazl Urrehman’s JUI-F, withdrew its candidates for the two slots, paving the way of PTI-nominees’ unopposed victory.

The outgoing Speaker Karmatullah Chagarmati administered oath to them.

JUI-F had nominated Munawar Khan for Speaker‚ while PML-N has fielded Arbab Akbar Hayat for the slot of Deputy Speaker against PTI’s Asad Qaiser and Imtiaz Qureshi.
