SUKKUR, Pakistan: Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) senior leader Syed Khursheed Shah on Saturday said his party was in favor of Bhasha Dam; however, it opposed the construction of Kalabagh Dam and it should not be built.

Khursheed Shah said the Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar should issue orders for allocating an additional amount in the federal budget for the construction of Bhasha Dam.

The PPP senior leader said the incumbent federal government wanted to get rid of the employees rather than creating employment opportunities. But, he added, PPP always gave employment to the people.

Moreover, Syed Khursheed Shah said he had never been involved in any corruption. He said a Parliamentary Committee needed to be formed to probe whether he committed corruption or not.

Khursheed Shah said in Sukkur, they retrieved the public land worth Rs 15 billion from the occupants.

It is worth noting here that the Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry alleged on the floor of the National Assembly that Khursheed Shah illegally recruited 800 people in Radio Pakistan in just three days. Fawad Chaudhry also accused the opposition leaders of looting the national exchequer and destroying state-run institutions in their respective tenures.
