PoliticsNexus exists between PTI and NAB, alleges Shahbaz Sharif in National Assembly

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif has alleged that there is a nexus between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and National Accountability Bureau (NAB), adding that his arrest was aimed at to manipulate the by-elections (Shahbaz Sharif in National Assembly).

Speaking on the floor of the House in Islamabad on Wednesday, Shahbaz Sharif said that for the first time an Opposition Leader was arrested without any proof. He said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Candidates were arrested during the election campaign.

Shahbaz Sharif said that even bogus FIRs were registered against PML-N workers as well under section of terrorism on May 13. He said that attempts were made to steal PML-N’s mandate, and added that in by-polls, we won seats left by the PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

The Opposition Leader also thanked Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) and other Opposition Parties for extending support to him.

“I am thankful to Parliamentarians to use constitutional right for production order,” he said.

Shahbaz Sharif was arrested by the NAB Officials in Lahore on October 5 for his alleged involvement in billions of rupees corruption in Ashiana Housing Scheme.

His arrest sparked a strong protest by PML-N, demanding the convening of the National Assembly Session to debate on the issue of Shahbaz Sharif’s arrest.

Eventually, the Session of National Assembly was held on the requisition of the Opposition, in which Shahbaz Sharif also participated and addressed the House after the Speaker Asad Qaiser issued his production order.
