Government of PakistanPM Shahbaz Sharif assures transparency and merit in laptops distribution

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has assured transparency and merit in the distribution of laptops among the youth.

“Like the past, transparency & merit will be the guiding principles in the selection of the recipients,” the prime minister wrote on Twitter on Saturday.

On Friday, a Ceremony in connection with the distribution of laptops amongst the students of various Universities was held at the Convention Centre in Islamabad in which Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that billions of rupees have been allocated in the current Fiscal Year Budget 2023-24 for distribution of 100,000 laptops on merit to the youth.

In his Twitter statement, Shahbaz Sharif said that the nationwide launch of Prime Minister’s laptop scheme yesterday resumed the journey the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government had started in Punjab.

“Nothing makes me happier than doing my bit for the empowerment of our youth & students, who hold the destiny of this Country in their hands,” he said.

The prime minister said that it’s a fascinating journey of how these laptops helped students with their studies, become entrepreneurs & pursue gainful careers over the last decade.

“The laptop scheme has truly been a game-changer, which led to sterling success stories,” he said.

Under the present scheme, 100,000 laptops will be distributed among the students of Pakistan in a phased manner.
