Parliament lodges, president secretariat among others to face electricity disconnection

ISLAMABAD: The Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali said on Tuesday that orders have been issued for the disconnection of electricity supply to several defaulters including the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), Capital Development Authority (CDA), Parliament Lodges and President Secretariat.

   

Talking to the media in Islamabad on Tuesday after visiting the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) headquarters, he said that an across the board campaign has been started against the power theft and defaulters.

The state minister said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has given the Ministry of Water and power the time of one month to recover the receivables and check the power pilferage.

Abid Sher Ali said that electricity will only be given to the consumers paying their bills. He further said that an effective policy is being evolved to reduce duration of loadshedding.
