KARACHI: A 10-party grand alliance has demanded that Karachi should be declared a sensitive city to ensure free and fair elections.

Addressing a joint press conference at Idara Noor ul Haq here on Monday, leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami, PML-N, JUI-F and other parties called for the deployment of army in Karachi for 10 days.

JI Karachi Amir Muhammad Hussain Mehnti said that there was deliberate attempt to create a situation to prevent holding of free and fair elections.

PML-N leader Salim Zia said that army should be deployed on every polling station in Karachi.
