Pakistan, US hold talks to promote defence cooperation

ISLAMABAD: As part of a regular consultation between the defence establishments of Pakistan and the United States, the two countries are holding talks in Washington on Monday to promote cooperation in defence sector.

The Pakistani delegation will be led by Defence Secretary Asif Yasin Malik in the talks which are being held in the backdrop of air strikes in North Waziristan and other tribal areas against militant hideouts after the terror incidents in Karachi and Mohmand Agency incidents.

In a statement in Washington, the US State Department spokesperson said that they have constant dialogue with Pakistan government on counter terrorism efforts and building their capacity to fight the menace.
