Pakistan suffers 39 more COVID deaths

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan suffered 39 more deaths caused by Coronavirus and registered further 1,895 infections in the last 24 hours, according to the National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC).

As many as 30,139 tests were taken across the Country on January 3 to diagnose the virus. The tests results revealed that 1,895 more people were suffering from COVID-19, recording a national positivity ratio of 6.29% on January 3.

   

The last 24 hours also witnessed 39 COVID deaths, of them 17 occurred in Sindh, 15 in Punjab, 4 in Islamabad, and 3 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

So far a total of 488,529 Coronavirus Cases have been detected in the Country.

The highest number of Cases have been recorded in Sindh wherein 218,597 people contracted the virus followed by Punjab which has registered 140,714 Cases.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has registered 59,484 Cases, Islamabad 38,263, Balochistan 18,247, Azad Kashmir 8,357, and Gilgit-Baltistan 4,867.

Likewise, 10,350 deaths have so far been recorded in the Country. Out of which, 4,124 have been registered in Punjab, 3,611 in Sindh, 1,675 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 428 in Islamabad, 225 in Azad Kashmir, 185 in Balochistan, and 101 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

To date, 442,457 COVID patients have recovered across Pakistan while as of January 4, 35,722 patients are still under treatment.

Of them, 2,747 patients are admitted in 626 hospitals equipped with COVID facilities across the Country.
