Pakistan, Russia underlined need for further enhancing trade ties

LAHORE, Pakistan: Pakistan and Russia have underlined the need for further enhancing bilateral economic and trade relations.

It happened when the Russian ambassador to Pakistan Alexey Yurievich Dedov held a meeting with the Punjab Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters pertaining to mutual interest and promotion of cooperation in various sectors.

The Punjab Chief Minister said that Pakistan and Russia should boost their bilateral economic and trade ties as it will benefit the people of both the countries.

Shahbaz Sharif said that both the countries should move forward by enhancing their cooperation in economic, trade and other sectors.

The chief minister further said that the Russian collaboration will be welcomed in the energy sector and extraction of coal in Punjab.

On the occasion, the Russian ambassador also expressed his country’s desire to boost its trade relations with Pakistan.

Russian markets open for Pakistani products: Envoy

Meanwhile, addressing members of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) in Lahore, the Russian ambassador said that there is vast place for Pakistani products in Russian market.

The Russian envoy asked Pakistani businessmen to explore untapped Russian market to increase Pakistani exports.
