Pakistan Navy introduces locally manufactured warship Aslat

KARACHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday arrived in Karachi on his two-day visit and addressed ceremony of commissioning of locally-manufactured warship F-22 Frigate PNS Aslat.

“We are fighting against those forces which are disrupting peace,” said the PM while addressing the ceremony in Karachi.

Nawaz Sharif thanked China for extending cooperation in the manufacturing of PNS Aslat, saying that strong relationship with China is an important element of Pakistan’s foreign policy.

Addressing on the occasion, Admiral Asif Sandila said “Pakistan does not have any aggressive designs against any country.”

The warship F-22 Frigate PNS Aslat was formally inducted into the fleet, further augmenting the defence capability of Pakistan Navy.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will chair a special cabinet meeting in Karachi tomorrow to discuss measures to restore peace in the city.

He will hold meetings with the Sindh political leadership including provincial Governor‚ Chief Minister‚ heads of security agencies and business community leaders to finalize a strategy to bring peace to Karachi.
