ANKARA, Turkey: The Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi has been conferred with “Legion of Merit of the Turkish Armed Forces” by the Turkish Naval Forces (TNF) Commander Adnan Özbal in an Impressive Ceremony in Ankara.

Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi is currently on an official visit to Turkey.

Earlier upon his arrival at the Turkish Naval Forces Headquarters in Ankara, the Naval Chief Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi was welcomed with a guard of honour and given a detailed briefing on the Turkish Navy.

In Ankara, the Naval Chief also met the Turkish Minister of National Defence General (retd) Hulusi Akar and the Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces General Yaşar Güler.

The Naval Chief also held a meeting with the President of Turkish Defence Industries Ismail Demir at the Presidency of Defence Industries in Ankara.

In the meeting, matters related to the regional security, Pakistan-Turkey bilateral collaboration and mutual interest were discussed.

The dignitaries commended contributions of each other in maintaining peace and stability in the region.

Earlier, Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi also laid a floral wreath at Ataturk’s Mausoleum in Ankara and signed the honour book.
