ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A two-day ‘Pakistan Investment Conference’ aimed at attracting foreign and local investment in the country will begin in Islamabad from Wednesday.

As many as 238 foreign and 333 local investors have so far confirmed their participation in the Conference to be organized by Board of Investment (BoI) on November 4-5.

   

The business delegations from over 29 countries including China, Turkey, Bahrain, United Kingdom, United States, Kuwait, Canada, Sweden, Sri Lanka, Egypt, UAE and Tanzania will be participating in the Investment Conference.

Up to 19 companies of international repute have also consented to participate in the Conference.

The conference aims at promoting and encouraging the local investors by providing them level playing field for investing in different sectors of national economy.

According to a top organizer of the conference, as compared to last year, more investors are coming to attend the conference owing to improved law and order situation and investment friendly atmosphere in the country.

Federal Ministers for Finance, Water and Power, Petroleum and Natural Resources, Commerce, National Food Security and Research and Planning Commission will address the Conference.

All provincial Board of Investments are also attending the Conference to inform the audience about investment opportunities in their respective provinces.
