ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan has extended heartfelt condolences to the people and State of Libya on the devastation caused by the deadly floods in the northeastern part of the North African Country.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that the loss of lives and the sufferings endured by the survivors are deeply saddening and we stand in solidarity with the Libyan people during these difficult times.

The Spokesperson said that our Embassy in Libya is monitoring the situation and is in contact with the local authorities for possible assistance and support to the community.

In Kenya, at least 2,300 people have lost their lives while 10,000 are missing after Storm Daniel dumped devastating rain on the Country’s northeast.

The Head of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) delegation in Libya Tamer Ramadan said that “the death toll is huge and around 10,000 are reported missing.”
