Pakistan ArmyISPR warns against further attacks on army, says May 9 will be...

ISLAABAD, Pakistan: The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has said that the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan was taken into legal custody on Tuesday from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) according to the National Accentuality Bureau (NAB) officials.

In a statement, the ISPR said that immediately after his arrest, there were organized attacks on army properties and installations as well as anti-army slogans were raised.

The ISPR said that on the one hand, these evil elements vigorously stir up public sentiments to fulfill their limited and selfish goals and on the other hand, they do not get tired of highlighting the importance of the army for the Country while throwing dust in the eyes of the people which is tantamount to hypocrisy.

The ISPR said that what the eternal enemy of the Country couldn’t do for 75 years, this group, under a political cloak, has done it in the lust for power.

It said that the army showed extreme patience, tolerance and restraint and without caring about its own reputation worked with extreme patience and tolerance in the wider interest of the Country.

The ISPR said that an attempt was made to incite army to give its immediate response to be used for its nefarious political objectives; however, army’s mature response thwarted this conspiracy.

It said that we are well aware that it was a pre-planned and carried out as per the directives of some evil leadership of the party.

Furthermore, it said that facilitators, planners and political activists involved in these operations have been identified and strict action will be taken against them as per the law and all these evil elements will now be responsible for the consequences.

The ISPR said that any further attack on the army including all law enforcement agencies (LEAs), military & state installations and properties will be severely retaliated. It said that the very group wants to push Pakistan into a civil war and has repeatedly expressed its nefarious agenda.

“No one can be allowed to incite people and take the law into their hands,” the ISPR said.
