RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: In a bid to pay tribute to the martyrs and Ghazis of terror-hit Army Public School (APS) at Warsak road in Peshawar, a Ceremony was held at the School on Monday as the nation observes the 5th anniversary of APS Tragedy on Monday.

In a statement, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the Ceremony started at the Army Public School and College (APSAC) with a special prayer for Shaheeds (Martyrs) followed by the national anthem.

The ISPR said that a contingent of Pakistan army presented the guard of honour.

The Commander Peshawar Corps Lt General Nauman Mahmood laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument and offered fateha for the departed souls.

Later, he joined the families of Shuhada, large gathering of locals, school children and staff for Quran Khwani within school premises.

The Commander also interacted with families of Shuhada.

The 5th anniversary of APS tragedy is being observed today with the pledge that nefarious design of the enemies will never be allowed to succeed.

On December 16, 2014, more than 150 people including 134 children and staff members of APS Peshawar lost their lives in a blatant act of terrorism committed by the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) at the School.
