Monitoring Desk: The Pakistan Army has continued its ongoing military campaign, Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, targeting militant positions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, security sources said on Monday.
According to security officials, Pakistani forces carried out effective counterattacks in the Shawwal area of South Waziristan, targeting positions allegedly used by Afghan Taliban elements and militants described as Fitna al-Khawarij.

Security sources stated that the army took timely action against an Afghan Taliban post located near the Shawwal sector, adjacent to the border region. During the operation, the post was reportedly destroyed using explosives, forcing militants stationed there to flee the area.
Officials said the military is continuing operations against suspected hideouts and logistical positions linked to Afghan Taliban fighters and allied militant groups operating near the frontier.

The latest action is part of Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, which Pakistan launched on February 26, 2026, following what Islamabad described as “unprovoked firing” by Afghan Taliban forces across several sectors of the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The reported incidents occurred in Chitral, Khyber, Mohmand, Kurram, and Bajaur, according to official statements.
The operation’s name, derived from Arabic, translates to “Wrath for the Truth” or “Righteous Fury.” Pakistani authorities say the campaign aims to neutralize militant infrastructure and cross-border threats affecting the country’s western regions.
The ongoing clashes represent a sharp escalation in tensions between Islamabad and the Taliban-led government in Kabul, with Pakistan accusing militant groups operating from Afghan territory of carrying out attacks inside Pakistan.
Security officials indicated that operations are continuing in multiple border areas, and further updates are expected as the situation develops.
