RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Security forces killed three terrorists in Mathra area of Peshawar during an intelligence based operation (IBO), the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.
In a press release, the ISPR said that as part of the Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, IBOs and search operations are being conducted in suspected areas of the Country.
The ISPR said that during an IBO in Mathra area of Peshawar, three terrorists were killed by the Security forces. However, one soldier and three policemen got injured in the exchange of fire, the ISPR said.
Likewise, Pakistan Rangers Punjab along with Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), police and intelligence agencies also conducted joint search operations in outskirts of Faisalabad, Gojra and Jarranwala areas of Punjab.
During these operations, 12 suspects apprehended while illegal weapons were also recovered.
The latest operations were carried out a day after a series of blasts once again rocked the Country. The blasts occurred in Quetta and Parachinar, resulting in martyrdom of around 60 people including security personnel.
Separately, four policemen including assistant sub-inspector (ASI) were killed by unknown assailants in SITE area of Karachi on Friday evening.
