RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Four more hardcore terrorists tried by Military Courts would be hanged in Pakistan as the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday confirmed their death sentences on charges of killing 21 persons, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
The convicts including Shabbir Ahmed, Umara Khan, Tahir Ali and Aftab ud Din belonged to proscribed organizations, and were involved in heinous offences related to terrorism including abducting/ slaughtering of soldiers, attacking Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and armed forces of Pakistan.
The IPSR said that besides from killing 21 persons and injuring another person, arms and explosives were also recovered from their possession.
The ISPR further said that all four terrorists admitted their offences before the Magistrates and the trial courts, and eventually were awarded death sentences.
The media wing of Pakistan’s military said while giving a brief details about convicts that Shabbir Ahmed S/O Muhammad Shafique was involved in attacking armed forces of Pakistan which resulted in death of Major Adnan and 10 soldiers. He was also involved in kidnapping and slaughtering of four soldiers.
Whereas Umara Khan S/O Ahmed Khan was involved in attacking armed forces of Pakistan which resulted in death of three soldiers. He was also involved in destruction of Government Girls Primary School, Hazara. He was found in possession of fire-arm and explosives.
The IPSR said that Tahir Ali S/O Syed Nabi involved in attacking armed forces of Pakistan which resulted in death of two soldiers while Aftab ud Din S/O Farrukh Zada was involved in attacking LEAs which resulted in death of a police official and injuries to another police official. He was also found in possession of fire-arm and explosives.
