RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Four more hardcore terrorists will soon embrace their face after the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday confirmed their sentences, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The Military Courts had announced their death sentences after all four of them admitted their offences before the Magistrates and the Trial Courts.

The convicts were members of proscribed organizations, and were involved in offences of terrorism including killing of innocent civilians, attacking Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and armed forces of Pakistan.

By and large, the convicted terrorists had been found guilty of killing 16 persons and injuring further eight. In addition, arms were also recovered from their possession.

Details of terrorists awarded death penalty are as under:-

Raiz Ahmed S/O Ghularam Khan:

The convict was involved in attacking LEAs and armed forces of Pakistan which resulted in death of eight officials of Police and Frontier Constabulary (FC) and injuries to five police officials.

The convict was also involved in destruction of Government Middle School, Aligrama.

Hafeez ur Rehman S/O Habib ur Rehman:

The convict was involved in killing of three innocent civilians.

Muhammad Saleem S/O Muslim Khan:

The convict was involved in attacking LEAs and armed forces of Pakistan which resulted in death of four soldiers and injuries to another soldier.

Kifayat Ullah S/O Dilresh:

The convict was involved in attacking armed forces of Pakistan which resulted in death of a soldier and injuries to two other soldiers.

The ISPR said that 23 convicts have also been awarded imprison of various duration by the Military Courts.

The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
