Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad10 labourers shot dead in Gwadar

GWADAR, Pakistan: In two separate firing incidents, at least 10 laborers of a road construction company were shot to death on Saturday in Gwadar, a district in Balochistan Province.

Official sources said that the unknown miscreants opened firing on labourers in Puskan and Gunt areas of Gwadar. Resultantly, 10 labourers were killed while another sustained injuries.

Meanwhile, the Balochistan Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti confirmed the firing incidents in Gwadar, saying eight labourers lost their lives.

Sarfaraz Bugti said that it was an act of terrorism, and terrorists martyred Pakistani Civilians.

The Balochistan Home Minister further told that most of the deceased labourers belonged to Sindh province.

In a statement, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned the tragic incident of indiscriminate firing targeting innocent labourers working on a road in Gwadar. He expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious human lives in the incident.

While directing the relevant authorities at the federal and provincial levels to bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to task, the prime minister said that all efforts would be made to maintain peace in the Province at all cost.

“We will ensure all necessary measures to fully realize our dream of a developed and prosperous Baluchistan InshaAllah,” he said.

The prime minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls and grant of courage to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss.

While strongly condemning the firing incidents in Gwadar, the Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri said that coward terrorists would be brought to justice. He said that nefarious designs of enemies would be foiled to ensure the development of Gwadar and Balochistan.

The insurgency-hit Balochistan has once been engulfed by militancy as it was the second terror act in the province within 24 hours as earlier on Friday, 26 persons were martyred when a convoy of the Senate Deputy Chairman Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri was targeted in a suicide attack in the Mastung area of Balochistan.

The blast also left 40 persons including the Senate Deputy Chairman injured.
