Islamabad, Pakistan: The attacks on Wana Cadet College and then in Islamabad on Tuesday are nothing just Open message to Pakistan “Open Pak-Afghan Trade” on face suicide bombers.
Though many within ruling elite of Pakistan such as KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and even the administrative system have soft corners for Afghans and not ready to accept that Afghanistan is using terrorism to push to Pakistan to accept its term and conditions of ‘friendship’, sane elements within the system such as Defence Minister Kh Muhammad Asif are clear headed that Afghanistan is putting pressure on Pakistan through terror attacks to accept Kabul’s given terms including opening of Pak-Afghan border for trade because Afghanistan is losing millions of dollars in business and history says that Afghan can do anything for his economic benefits.
Although Interior Minister claims that Afghans have been deported from Pakistan including from Islamabad, however, news reports and ground realities confirm otherwise, and Afghans are working and doing businesses in marketplaces in Islamabad and Rawalpindi including posh and expensive Blue Area.
Reports from Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Sahiwal claim that not thousands rather millions of Afghans are working and trading in Punjab by greasing hands of the police and civil administration. Band Road, Mahmood Boti and their adjoining areas in Lahore are particular places where Afghans are still living with their families under the garb of “Pashtuns from Dara Adalkhel”.
Pakistan is still open for negotiation is the message that is going from Islamabad even after attacks on Wana Cadet College and Islamabad suicide blast that resulted loss of over 21 lives shows that Pakistan has a big heart for regional peace.
