ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: One more woman embraced martyrdom while three persons received serious injuries when Indian forces again resorted to indiscriminate and unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC) on Tuesday.

The Indian army opened fire in Nezapir and Bagsar Sectors of LoC, resulting in martyrdom of 50-year-old lady Noor Jahan.

Three persons including 60-year-old lady Rashida, 70-year-old Muhammad Din and Zaheer sustained serious injuries in the firing incident.

In a bid to condemn the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces along the LoC on October 1, the Director General (SA & SAARC) Dr Mohammad Faisal summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia again today (Tuesday) and registered the protest over the incident.

Dr Faisal urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 ceasefire arrangement; investigate these and other incidents of ceasefire violations; instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC and the Working Boundary.

The director general (SA & SAARC) also urged that the Indian side should permit UNMOGIP to play its mandated role as per the UN Security Council resolutions.

Earlier on September 28-29, the Indian forces martyred two civilians including 60-year-old lady Salamat Bibi and 13-year-old young boy Zeeshan Ayub, and injured three persons in Nikial and Rakhchikri Sectors along the LoC.
