One killed, five including women injured in Karachi blast

KARACHI, Pakistan: An explosion took place near Korangi crossing area of Karachi on Tuesday night that left one person killed and five others including four women injured.

Police said that the target of the blast was a vehicle of the rapid response force; however, the rapid response force personnel remained safe in the blast.

The bomb was planted in a bike, police said, adding that ball bearings and nuts were used in the explosive material.

The dead body and injured persons were shifted to Jinnah Hospital in Karachi.

Meanwhile, a person was killed in a firing incident in Malir Model Colony, the rescue sources said.
