NewsTwo new universities to be established in Islamabad’s rural areas: Tariq Fazal

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CA&DD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary announced that two new universities one each for men and women will be established in rural areas of federal capital.

He stated this while inaugurating the newly Constructed Building of Islamabad Model College for Boys, Sihala here Wednesday. He said that no nation can progress without importing quality education to its younger generations.

He said that Prime Minister has assigned him the responsibilities of CA&D Division, to realize his vision of education reforms for Islamabad.

“We are not only building and upgrading infrastructure but provision of quality of education in conducive environment is our primary aim,” the minister said.

New building of Islamabad Model College for Boys was to be completed in 2010 according to original plans, but it was completed in 2013 due to delays.

However, classes could not be started in the new building, as boundary wall of the college, could not be completed due to illegal occupation of the college land.

Dr Tariq also directed the CDA official present at the occasion to get vacated the college land and construct boundary wall within one month.

Minister of State also urged the people not to occupy the government lands reserved for schools and other public institutions adding that to cooperate and do not drag such cases into courts.

It leads to sheer waste precious time in useless litigation. Otherwise law of the land is there to take its own course of action, he said.

The minister made it clear that officials will have to shun lethargic attitude and said their delay in any project, whether it is of health, education or roads construction will not be tolerated.

Those who found to be responsible would be penalized, the minister warned.
