ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Secretary of Information and Broadcasting Syed Imran Gardezi has been given the additional charge of Managing Director Pakistan Television (PTV) after Muhammad Malick’s tenure expired.
Muhammad Malick was appointed as the managing director PTV in February 2014 and his tenure was to expire on February 29, 2016.
Sources said that the Federal Ministry of Information and Broadcasting decided against giving extension to Muhammad Malick and gave addition charge of the post to the secretary information Imran Gardezi.
Earlier, the Chairman PTV Attaul Haq Qasmi assumed the charge of additional MD PTV after Malick’s contract ended.
Imran Gardezi will continue to perform duties as the managing director state-run television till Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif appoints someone for the post.
With the departure of Muhammad Malick as the managing director PTV, administrative changes also took place as the Director Administration Waseem Pervaiz was replaced by Col (retd) Hassan Immad Muhammadi while the Head of Current Affairs PTV World Owais Tohid popularly known as OT resigned from his post.
