ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Light rain with thunderstorm is likely at upper areas of the Country on weekend while rain with snowfalls over hills is expected at scattered places of upper areas till Tuesday subsiding smog into fog at respective places.

On Saturday, light rain may occur at Malakand, upper FATA and Gilgit-Baltistan whereas on Sunday light rain may hit same areas including Zhob, an official of Met office told the state-run news agency.

He said dry weather to grip elsewhere of the country with dense fog and smog in plain areas of Punjab, central and lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Upper Sindh.

On Monday, same weather conditions likely with addition to light rain chances in Malakand, Quetta, Zhob, Dera Ismail Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan division, upper FATA and Gilgit-Baltistan.

However, on Tuesday rain thunderstorm with snowfall over hills are expected at scattered places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Punjab and twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Dry weather with fog to continue elsewhere in the country.

The intensity of dust particles and other air pollutants reduce with rain subsiding smog into fog in respective areas, he further added.
