PTV Sports reports that Both Pakistan and New Zealand are looking to occupy the fifth place in ICC T20 rankings by winning the third T20 at the Westpac Stadium in Wellington on Friday.
The win in Wellington will also give either side a series victory as both the teams have won one match each. The last match of the three-match T20 series will begin at 11:00 am PST and like the past, will be telecast live by PTV Sports.
Currently, Pakistan is at sixth place in ICC T20 rankings whereas New Zealand is occupying seventh position.
Earlier, Pakistan won the first T20 against New Zealand in Auckland on January 15 with some high quality performance. But lost the second match by 10 wickets in Hamilton on January 17.
The record breaking partnership in second T20 between Kane Williamson and Martin Guptill helped New Zealand to achieve the 169 runs target set by Pakistan quite comfortably.
Both Guptill and Williamson scored 87 and 72 runs respectively and remained unbeaten. Eventually, New Zealand finished the game with a 10-wicket victory and also leveled the three-match series by 1-1.
It was only second time in Pakistan’s T20 history, when its batsmen put 150 or more runs on the board but its bowlers failed to prevent the opposition from reaching the target.
