England is already leading the series 2-1 and seems more confidant to clinch the ODI series after facing a 2-0 defeat in Test series against the Host.

In the third ODI held at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, England beat Pakistan by 6 wickets.

While batting first, Pakistani top orders’ irresponsible batting and poor running between the wickets restricted it to only 208 runs in 49.5 overs. Wahab Riaz’s firework at the end of the innings, helped Pakistan cross 200, otherwise it seemed an uphill task.

From England, Chris Woakes took 4 wickets for 40 runs.

Pakistan succeeded to take England’s 4 wickets for 93 runs but then, James Taylor and Jos Buttler played responsible innings and took their side to a comfortable 6-wicket win. Taylor scored 67 runs while Buttler made 49.

Pakistan’s Zafar Gohar picked up 2 wickets on his debut. He also scored 15 runs with 1 six.

Previously, both the teams have played 2 ODIs in Dubai against each other in 2012. England won both the matches at the venue.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Captain Azhar Ali promised his team would fight hard in their must-win fourth and final ODI against England in Dubai, saying he was ready to face the music in case of a series loss.

“It’s a must win game for us but it would not be easy because England played well in the last two games and won,” Azhar said.

“Players realized the importance of the match so we will do our hardest work to win and I am confident that if we play to our ability then we can definitely win this game,” he added.
