ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan has lodged a protest with India over the Hindu extremists attack on the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) Office in New Delhi, and demanded complete safety of its officials.

Earlier in the day, a group of Hindu extremists ransacked the PIA Office in New Delhi and broke windows and computers.

“We have lodged a protest with the Indian authorities over this incident and asked them to ensure the safety of Pakistani officials and further beef-up the security,” the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi Spokesman Manzoor Memon said while talking to a private news channel from New Delhi.

The spokesman said that the attackers damaged the computers and smashed the windows of PIA’s Office. However, he added, all the staffers of PIA Office in New Delhi were safe and sound.

Manzoor Memon said that he Pakistani High Commission has called upon the Indian government to immediately arrest the culprits and give them severe punishment. He said that the Pakistani High Commission has informed to Indian Foreign Ministry about the incident.

Moreover, he said that the PIA’s Station Manager Saeed Khan and a diplomat were reviewing the situation.

In a press briefing in New Delhi, the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Vikas Swarup said that law enforcement agencies will take action in connection with PIA office attack in Delhi.
