NewsPeople grumble about shortcomings, overcharging by NTS

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: People have expressed serious concern over shortcomings and overcharging by different testing services including National Testing Service (NTS) operating in the Country.

The government departments and ministries depend on these services including National Testing Service (NTS), Balochistan Testing Service (BTS), Open Testing Service (OTS), Pakistan Testing Service and Sindh Testing Service (STS) to hire people for different posts.

Talking to the state-run news agency, the applicants said that NTS management was charging Rs 600 to 1,000 from each candidate on every test which was a financial burden on young people.

Abdul Qayyum, a student of MBA at International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), said that students have severe reservation about all these national testing services which were making money for conducting a test. He claimed that these services select candidates on basis of favoritism and nepotism.

Raja Arsalan Ahmad, another student at Federal Urdu University, said that Pakistan Testing Service (PTS) did not have any proper rechecking system and lot of irregularities were committed.

Among the five testing services, NTS is the pioneer which has 14 years of experience and is widely known due to its system spread across the country.

The Head of Corporate Social Responsibility Department NTS Madiha Aslam said that NTS is totally based on integrity and reliability as it has 14 years of experience in screening and holding tests.

Madiha Aslam claimed that NTS has a variety of content as it is conducting different kinds of customized tests since 2003.

“NTS has the capacity of evaluating more than one lac candidates within a single day,” she said.

Furthermore, she said that NTS is going to introduce bio-metric system in collaboration with NADRA in order to stop use of fake CNICs.

Madiha Aslam claimed that they have more than 600,000 different types of content available while other testing services did not have that kind of material.

The Director OTS Faheem Ahmad said that they are providing affordable testing service within limited time.
