RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: A Pakistani solider embraced Shahadat on Monday after a Pakistani Post was attacked in Khyber agency from across the border, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
In a statement, the IPSR said that Sepoy Waqas had been critically injured after terrorists from across the border fired on a Pakistani Post in Khyber Agency on Saturday.
Sepoy Waqas was being given medical treatment at Combine Military Hospital (CMH) Peshawar; however, he succumbed to his injuries today (Monday).
The ISPR said that the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa acknowledged sacrifice of Sep Waqas for security of our Motherland.
The Namaz-e-Janaza (Funeral Prayers) of Sepoy Waqas was offered at Corps Headquarters Peshawar today.
The Corps Commander Lt General Nazir Ahmed Butt, Inspector General Frontier Crops (IGFC) Major General Shaheen Mazhar Mehmood, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and large number of officers and soldiers attended his Namaz-e-Janaza.
“Terrorists are resorting to fire from across the border taking advantage of weak border control on Afghanistan side,” the ISPR said.
It said that there was a requirement to check terrorists’ freedom of movement on Afghan side of the border.
