Spokesman Punjab government, Syed Zaeem Hussian Qadri has said that Punjab government, on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, is implementing a comprehensive programme of welfare of journalists. He said that solid and comprehensive steps are being taken for resolving problems of media-men in this regard.
He expressed these views while talking to President Lahore Press Club Arshad Ansari and Shafqat Gillani, here today. Syed Zaeem Qadri said that longstanding problems faced by journalists’ community in Journalist Colony Lahore have been resolved speedily which is unprecedented. Effective steps will be taken for resolving the problems of journalists of the province with sincerity in future as well, he added. Zaeem Qadri thanked the representatives of journalists on extending cooperation to Punjab government. Later, a 65-member delegation belonging to different districts of regional union of journalists visited Directorate General Public Relations Punjab and called on DGPR Ather Ali Khan. Professional affairs were discussed during the meeting. Representatives of journalist organizations of the districts thanked Secretary Information & Culture Momin Agha and DGPR Ather Ali Khan.
