Islamabad, Pakistan: Pakistan and Kazakhstan share history and cultural linkages and people to people contact is needed to enhance already excellent bilateral relationship between the two countries.
These were views of members of a delegation of journalists from Kazakhstan while talking to Dispatch News Desk (DND) News Agency here on Wednesday.
The Director General Eternal Publicity Wing of Ministry of Information and National Heritage Shafqat Jalil hosted a reception in the honour of the delegation that included Chief Editor of a Kazkh magazine, Gabit Moldamuratov; Correspondent of Kazinform (State run news agency), Arnur Rakhymbekov; Dean of the Oriental Studies Faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Dr. Yktiyar Paltore; Professor of Oriental Studies, L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Dr. Samal Tuleubayeva besides Bakhitkhozha Rustemov (a writer from Kazakhstan) and Bolat Tokabatev (Expert in Kazakhstan Strategic Studies Institute) . Officials of state run news Agency APP and ministry of Information and National Heritage were also present at reception. Russian language News Agency Dispatch News Desk (DND) was represented by its Chief Editor Agha Iqrar Haroon.
Earlier, the delegation of Kazakhstan visited the offices of state run news agency APP and held meeting with its Managing Director, Masood Ahmad Malik.
It is pertinent to mention that Kazakhstan delegation is visiting Pakistan on the invitation of Pakistan Embassy in Astana.
Members of delegation were keen to understand media laws, tools of news gathering, trend in journalism and news distribution system of Pakistan.
