ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The process of receiving Hajj applications in designated branches of banks from intending Hujjaj started on Monday and it will continue till April 26 while the balloting for successful pilgrims will be held on April 29.
Over 1,43,000 Pakistanis will offer pilgrimage this year. 60 percent pilgrims will perform Hajj under the government scheme while 40 percent through Hajj group organizers.
Under the Hajj policy 2016 announced on Saturday by the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf in a press conference in Islamabad, the Hajj package for pilgrims from Karachi, Quetta and Sukkur (South Region) is Rs 261,941 and from Peshawar, Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Faisalabad and Sialkot (North Region) Rs 270,941.
The air fare for North Region has been reduced to Rs 95,000 from Rs 98,700 and for South Region to Rs 86,000 from Rs 89,700.
