Government of PakistanNawaz announces to resign immediately if Panama leaks allegations proved right

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday announced to write a letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to form a Commission to investigate the allegations leveled in Panama leaks, and if allegations are proved right, he will immediately resign.

“I once again present myself and my family for accountability,” the prime minister said in his second address to the nation on the Panama Papers issue.

However, the prime minister added that if he and his family are found not guilty after the investigation into the Panama leaks are completed, the accusers would have to publicly apologize.

The prime minister said that he has been in politics since 30 years and has always been falsely accused.

Sharif said that the allegations being leveled on the basis of Panama Papers are not new as they had been facing these since 22 years.

“My life in an open book. My whole assets are declared,” the prime minister said.

The prime minister said that once gain efforts are being made to destabilize Pakistan.

Nawaz Sharif said that earlier a Judicial Commission to probe rigging in 2013 general elections was established as per Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) demand but later allegations were proved baseless.

The premier said that the PTI Chairman Imran Khan was proved wrong by the Judicial Commission on election rigging but he has yet not apologized to the nation.

Moreover, the prime minister also advised media to do objective reporting on Panama leaks. He requested media to get allegations investigated first.
