HANGU, Pakistan: Two people lost their lives and five further received injuries when a blast ripped through a mosque in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Hangu district on Friday.

The Hangu District Police Officer (DPO) Nisar Ahmed told that the blast took place inside a mosque located in the Doaba Police Station when the Friday Serman was underway.

The DPO said that the roof of the mosque caved in due to the impact of the explosion, adding that nearly 30 to 40 people were reported to be stuck under the rubble.

Nisar Ahmed also told that heavy machinery were called to retrieve the bodies and wounded persons.

Earlier in the morning, at least 30 people were martyred and 45 others injured in a suicide blast near a procession of Eid Milad-un-Nabi in Balochistan’s Mastung district.
