ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The political leadership of the Country – whether sitting in treasury benches or opposition benches – have voiced deep grief and sorrow over the loss of 17 precious lives when a Pakistan Army aviation aircraft crashed near Mora Kalu in Rawalpindi.
As per the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the aircraft was on a routine training flight when it experienced the fatal crash.
In the crash, 17 people including five crew members – two pilots Lieutenant Colonel Saqib & Lieutenant Colonel Waseem, Naib Subedar Afzal, Havaldar Ibne Ameen and Havaldar Rehmat – embraced martyrdom while 12 civilians were injured.
Expressing grief over the incident, President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, the Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, the National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, the National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri, and the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif condoled with the bereaved families and prayed for early recovery of those injured in the incident.
In their separate statements, they prayed for the high reward of the martyrs and courage for the bereaved families to bear this loss with fortitude.
The Chief Minister Punjab also directed the concerned officials to provide best medical facilities to the injured.
